Become a member of Transition Exmouth and support your local transition town!

Members have the opportunity to shape our charity and the work we do. As a member, not only will you be supporting us to fund our community work, you can also make meaningful contributions, shaping the direction we take through democratic action or getting involved in projects more directly. Why should you become a member?

Be a paid member of TrEx because your subscriptions and input are invaluable in helping us to...

  • Shape the organisation - through democratic action (e.g. voting at the AGM), direct contributions and sharing perspectives (telling us what you want/need)

  • Take action on helping the climate and environmental emergencies locally - by supporting volunteers and voluntary work

  • Make space for local climate and environmental issues - through the newsletter, website, social media, the Hub, events, activities and much more

  • Provide core services - for individual volunteers and affiliated groups, such as insurance, admin, funding support, space for events (and going forward, other things like storage)

  • Support and communicate our community voice - influencing different organisations and connecting across a wide network

  • Hold others to account on climate and environmental issues- through different channels of action locally, regionally and nationally

  • Know that people are behind us - and giving us the impetus to keep going

  • Generate match funding using subscriptions - making members' money go further

  • Build a more efficient, sustainable and long-term organisation for generations to come

How much will it cost?

Our memberships are run on a pay what you can afford basis. You can select for yourself the annual membership fee you feel is most appropriate for your financial situation.  Our suggested amount is £20 annually. We also have an option for free annual membership for those on low incomes and students.

Where does my membership fee go?

Your membership fee will contribute to the costs of running a charity, and enables us to continue the work we do across Exmouth. It may be used to hire venues, pay for speakers, pay for our website, or fund our public liability insurance (which we provide for free to our affiliated groups!). We also regularly apply for grants, but your memberships provide a steady source of income that helps us keep the lights on.

We understand that you may not be able to use our online sign-up form or pay digitally. If you need help signing up as a member, please send us your details through our “Contact” page and one of our team will be in touch to help you through the process or take your payment via another method.
